Hello there! It has been a while since I have shared anything on my blog. Lots of changes have happened since the last time I wrote.
I am currently training for a wonderful 26.2!! Yes…..26 point friggin’ 2!!!! That topic is going to get a blog post of it’s very own!
I’ve switched career fields. Went from working in the legal field for a gazillion years, to working in the medical field. I really do enjoy it. It is night and day from legal, but it is a nice way to refresh the brain. I work for a top notch, amazing individual. She sure knows her stuff. The people that I work with all bring something different to the table. Boss lady sure does know how to pick her team! The company that I am working for is growing at a rapid pace. It is crazy how much everything has changed there business wise over the past month. I cannot wait to see where the company is at the end of the year.
So, I won a trip to Vegas at the company social a few weeks ago. I cannot wait to take the trip. Of course it will have to be post-marathon(s). Yes, you read that right….there are 2 that I have signed up for before the end of the year! I know….I’m NUTS!
I’ve been sucked into the world of Pretty Little Liars. I know, I’m late to the party on this one. I don’t every watch real television because so many things are not proper for the kids. It’s usually Disney, cooking/baking shows, and a few other things that we watch around the kids. I’m not really a television watcher, but when I’m trying to wind down at the end of the day, I will watch PLL. No spoilers please!
My girls have started the 2018-2019 school year. Can’t believe I have a 5th and 2nd grader. Where has the time gone? Who told my oldest she could turn double digits? No really, who gave her permission? Both girls are playing soccer (Rec and Academy), and my youngest wants to start playing softball. Talk about a crazy schedule!
So, this is all for now. I will be writing again soon…… REAL SOON……
Happy New Year to all of my family, friends, and followers! I hope you had a great 2017. I know that I accomplished so much more than I thought that I would. So many goals were crushed, so many friends made, and so many miles on my feet.
I have been wanting to post my 18 Goals for 2018, but between work, family, and life, things have been busy. I wasn’t able to post my 2018 Goals on January 1st, so today is a good day to put them out there. There are so many things that I would like to see happen for myself, family, and friends, but these are the 18 goals that I MUST accomplish for myself.
- Train for a Marathon;
- Train for an Ultra;
- Get my Personal Trainer Certification;
- Get my Running Coach Certification;
- Start a Kid Running Club at JEA (Parents can participate too);
- Help at Least 1 Person on Their Health Fitness Journey;
- Get Back into Church and The Word;
- Take a Girls’ Weekend Trip with CJ & Ry;
- Start a Book Club for CJ and Her Friends;
- Lower my Body Fat Percentage;
- Tone Up Some Flab;
- Hand Write 1 Letter a Month to a Family Member or Friend;
- Visit my Relatives More Often;
- Organize a Group Volunteer Type Event at the Homeless Shelter and/or Food Pantry;
- Start Doing Yoga as Part of my Health Journey;
- Pace a Few Half-Marathons;
- Start Bike Riding; and
- Being a more Positive Person, and not let the Negativity Bring me Down
There are so many more things that I would like to list, but I am doing only 18. I really want to grow myself as an individual this year. Everyone has room for growth. It is important to keep your brain functioning, so challenge yourself to learn something new. Read some books, write in a journal, talk to a stranger.
I don’t know if you set personal goals for yourself, but it is great to have something to strive for, to look forward to. Don’t ever stop pushing yourself for something that you desire to accomplish.
These are my goals. You are more than welcome to join me on the roads/trails as I put some miles in this year. Those times are when some of the best conversations take place!
2017 has been a year of change for me. I’ve taken control of my health, and I now do things and eat things that I said I never would. Lots of my every day supporters know how many blessings I have received this year, and it isn’t even over just yet.
My close family and close friends have been told, so it is time to share with the rest of you. After 13 years of my career at Thomas, Feldman & Wilshusen, L.L.P. in Dallas, I have resigned from my Legal Assistant Position. My last day at the Firm will be on Friday, September 1, 2017.
I have accepted a position at a reputable Firm in McKinney. My new career journey with The Burress Snellings Law Firm PLLC begins on September 5, 2017. The area of law that they practice in was my favorite back in the day, and I cannot wait to jump back in.
While I was super nervous and scared to leave my work family at TF&W, I took the leap of faith by accepting the position in McKinney. God planned this. He aligned everything for me, and all I had to do was show my faith in His plans for me. There were just too many positive things to walk away from. It was one of those situations where I wasn’t looking for a job, it just presented itself, and everything fell into place.
Exciting things are happening for me. I know this is one of the best moves for me and my family. They are all super excited, and I cannot wait to travel this journey in my life. I have chosen to dance and not sit out on this amazing opportunity. I Hope You Dance – By Lee Ann Womack was the 1st song that I heard getting back into my car after my interview. I believe that was another sign coming from the Heavens.
Goodbye to my TF&W family. Many memories were made, many tears were shed, many late night hours burned. It has been a pleasure and an honor working for you. I appreciate all the kindness you have expressed to me over the past 13 years. I have grown a lot as a Legal Assistant and a person. I wish you nothing but success and growth in the years to come.
