Commit to 150 Minutes of Exercise & The Super Shred Diet

Having PCOS, I have to see an Endocrinologist quite often to have blood work done to check cholesterol, lipid levels, glucose & A1C levels, etc. I also have nodules on my thyroid, so that is monitored by my Endocrinologist as well. During my visit with her last week, she asked me to commit to working out 150 minutes a week, even if that meant just working out on the weekend. Okay, I can do that. I renewed my gym membership at LA Fitness this past Sunday…yay me! I plan on going to the gym this coming weekend, if the weather permits. My schedule doesn’t really allow for any gym workouts during the week. I’m trying to figure out where during the week I can try to fit in some kind of exercise. I do chase my kids around and we do have the occasional dance party during the week. I know I do get in some exercise, but I can’t sit here and say, “I did blah, blah, blah for 30 minutes 3 times this week.”

A couple of weeks ago, I was stuck in the usual rush hour traffic and I was listening to KKITM. They had mentioned that Dr. Ian K. Smith was going to be on the show in the next few minutes. I was anxious to hear what he had to say as I was excited about the “build up intro” they had given about him. He comes on the air and talks about his latest book “Super Shred Diet“. I liked what he had to say about the program, and everything seemed fairly easy to do without wanting to give up. You get to eat real food, and it’s something different every day. The program is a 4 week thing, and you are guaranteed to lose at least 20 pounds (the average weight loss). Sounds good, right? So, I got to the office, looked up this book, and bam, I ordered my copy on Amazon. A coworker had me order the book for her, as she too is going to do the Super Shred Diet. I’m still reading my book, and am ready to start the 4 week diet. My coworker is also still reading her book. We are wanting to start the diet at the same time. I’m going to read as much as I can here in the next few days so that I can get started already. I’m so excited to hopefully see the results I want. I like that Dr. Smith tells you what groceries you need to buy, and he tells you what to eat. For once, I actually like foods that are on the list. LOL I’m a VERY picky eater and I really don’t like trying new things that don’t look appetizing to me or that have a funky texture.

I’m hoping the weather isn’t icy or snowy on Saturday morning so I can hit the gym. I’m pretty excited about getting back to the gym, and I’m even more excited that I may have a workout partner if my friend Janet joins the gym as well. We are both ready to get on our journeys of looking and feeling better. She too is going to do the Super Shred Diet with me! It helps to have someone right there with you who can feel your “pain”…literally. LOL

Working out and doing this diet will be a great way to start my journey! If you are local and want to go to the gym and do the diet with us, come on!! If you aren’t local, but want to have an accountability partner, I am here for you!
